Located at the centre of Dong Van District, the vestige consists of the market and the two Quyet Tien and Dong Tam villages of Dong Van Commune. During the French colonial time, the town was a regional business center, in particular the opium trade attracting traders from China and the Red River Delta. In 1923 a big fire destroyed the town and the French then rebuilt the market. The general architecture of houses here shows many common features e.g.:
