Lo Lo is the ethnic minority groups have lived many years in Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark. Lo Lo ethnic clothing are very sophisticated, expressing aesthetic in coordinating colors, the elaborate patterns in the weave of the woman.

If men’s clothing of Lo Lo ethnic group is not different than men’s clothes of H’mong another crowded ethnic group: wide trousers, black dyed cotton blouses or linen ones. Lo Lo men usually wrap a black dyed towel on their heads; meanwhile, H’mong does not use it. Contrarily, Lo Lo women clothing shows special culture features of Lo Lo ethnic people and ethnic characteristics of the local group. Fabrics of Lo Lo ethnic teams ate the same, including cotton and linen textile by the locals or industrial fabrics. However, design for the women is completely different between Lo Lo teams.

“Lo Lo Den” (Black Lo Lo) women wear pullover blouses with square collar and many bird-sharp features along body. the wide sleeves are joined by many fabric rollers with color of  blue, red, yellow, purple and so on. Their skirt is designed with two so layers below the scraper and near the knee. Fabric (fibers) covers behind of the skirts, edge wrapped by many rows of plastic daisies and zinc coins. Leggings are black.

Women’s clothers Lo Lo Hoa (Flower LoLo) are different from Lo Lo Den team, both structure and decoration. Women wear vests with low necks that open at the front, highly decorate with triangles of colored cloth. Unlike Black Lo Lo women who wear skirts, Lo Lo Hoa wear elaborate indigo trousers with beads, fringes and embroidery, as well as leggings. Their belts and head coverings are similar to the Lo Lo Den, with brighter colors, made of colored pieces of cloth sewn together. They use leggings women like H’mong people but like Lo Lo Black team.

These are basic feature of Lo Lo women dress. The clothing has some common features such as using indigo dyed cotton fabric; sleeve is made by covering more colorful pair; main color is red. However, women clothing of two teams is designed with different decorative patterns: to Lo Lo Black women are tight skirt, pulled, with embroidered pattern and leggings, while Hoa Lo Lo women’s is trousers, chest-cut shirt, a pattern of fabric graft and wrap leggings.

It learly shows national cultural characters and culture characteristics of the local ethnic minority groups. To make the gorgeous clothes for women, Lo Lo women must spend lots of times on needlework and embroidery. Girls have to practice the sewing as she was a child in order to create their beautiful clothes. Many mothers carefully asked local skillful tailors to help their daughters in the field. Those who are good at sewing and embroidery society Lo Lo are always applauded by the society.
